The yellow Substance is illegal : Juan Manuel Marquez

The yellow substance Juanmanuel Marquez ingest on fight night against Pacquiao is really not allowed. I stumble upon this article.

November 16, 2011 (BOXING)  -  On Wednesday, Keith Kizer was kind enough to give me a response regarding the yellow substance Juan Manuel Marquez ingested on November 12.  Mr. Kizer, who serves as the executive director of the Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC), said:  "Water and electrolyte drinks are allowed in the corner.  Any electrolyte drink must be brought to the arena in factory-sealed, plastic bottles.   Mr. Marquez used water and Pedialyte on Saturday night."
Pedialyte, an electrolyte solution, is manufactured by Abbott Laboratories and is designed to rehydrate one's body, replacing fluids and mineral lost either through illness or strenuous activity.  (Random thought: My cousin works at Abbott!)

After reviewing NSAC's rulebook (see NAC 467), we could not identify regulations specifying what a fighter is allowed to ingest during a bout.Conflict:  NSAC vs. WBO rules  >
However, the World Boxing Organization's rulebook does provide such stipulations.  According to Section 28 part (a), "Only plain water may be given to a contestant in the course of the bout."
What about that, my friends?  Sanctioning body doesn't allow it.  ..hhmmm...  (More content for bloggers.  Type on, ninjas.)
As of this writing, we are awaiting responses from the WBO, specifically: Mr. Francisco Valcarcel (President) and Mr. John Duggan (Chairman, Grievance Committee).  [ Email me ]
