First Look: XPPHONE will run on Windows 8

Let’s admit the fact that in one point of our geeky life, we all have fantasized a phone fully capable of running Windows operating system. However, that illusory idea doesn’t bode too well in the real world since it has been proven many times there’s a valid reason why Microsoft and Apple provided two separate operating systems for Mobile and Desktopcomputers.

However, there’s still some who tried accomplishing such task and one fine example is the ITG xpPhone of last year. And as it name directly indicates, its a phone that runs Windows OS.

While the company obviously had a rough time launching the phone in the mainstream, they haven’t given up the fight yet and as of today, it’s revealing the ITG xpPhone 2. Basically, its serves as the second-generation model of the brandrunning 1.6GHz Intel Atom Z530 chip (the same used on tablets and netbooks), 112GB SSD Storage, 2GB RAM all previewed on its 4.3-inch display in which the company states it’ll be able to support Windows 7 or Windows 8 depending when will this renegade phone be unveiled.

Naturally, we wouldn’t expect the phone to be as thin as Galaxy S II / RAZR, but despite its strange innards for a “phone”, it manage to pack 18 hours of call time under a new chassis of 17.5mm which is way thinner than its predecessor. Obviously, this is not a smartphone but rather, a “Lilliputian PC” made for Windows. Speaking of which, its release date is expected to hit January next year which serves as a perfect timing to the touch-screen friendly UI ofWindows 8.

Let’s just hope its price would be cheaper than its QWERTY version last year which plays around $800.

The Return: Allen Iverson

Allen Iverson wants another chance in NBA

Ten years after becoming an MVP who led the Philadelphia 76ers to the Finals, Allen Iverson has his mind set on making a strong comeback. He is determined to end his career in the NBA, a career that could possibly be intended for the Hall of Fame. Allen Iverson still wants back in the league even though he’s 36 and after no NBA team showed interest in signing him last season, he had no choice but to agree to a 2 year, $4 million deal contract with Turkish team Besiktas.

“I’ll play for anybody,” Iverson told Yahoo! Sports.

“That wasn’t me at all,” Iverson said. “Obviously, I was dealing with the situation with my daughter and going through a divorce, and I wasn’t there mentally. In my career those last couple years were so hard for me because I wasn’t there. Mentally, I wasn’t there.

“During those 48 minutes on the basketball court, all I [ever] cared about was that time right there. Nothing else distracted me. But at times, I felt myself standing on the court just thinking about my daughter, thinking about the situation with me and my wife. I wasn’t giving [the teams] everything I had mentally.”

With his age and injury this may be a little difficult. He didn't play to well and caused quite some distraction in the Sixers locker room. Iverson says he’s completely healthy and can be in NBA shape in two weeks. He is hoping to show he can still play on an NBA level when he hosts his Las Vegas Superstar Challenge on Nov. 12-13.

Allen also said he doesn't mind coming off the bench.

“I’m not going to let it end like this, and I don’t want it to end like this. My first step is doing everything I have to do to get back to that [NBA] level. But if that’s something that God doesn’t want from me, then that’s that.”

Reason To Mary Emma Watson

Salary according to IMDB:
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 (2011) $15,000,000
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 (2010) $15,000,000
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (2007) $4,000,000

English actress and model, Emma Watson, has a net worth of £24 million ($39m) as of May 2011 according to the Sunday Times UK Rich List. Watson made her big-screen debut in 2001′s box-office smash Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, bringing to life Hermione Granger, friend to the famous protagonist Harry Potter of J.K. Rowling’s children’s novel. Born in Paris, where she lived for the first five years of her life, Watson acted only in school plays before breaking into Hollywood with this film. Harry Potter has been an incredible money-spinner for Watson.

Watson hung up her broomstick after more than a decade playing Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter films. She was nine when first cast as the boy wizard’s brainy sidekick and filmed the series’s final instalment in 2011. Her earnings peak was in 2009 when she picked up £10m for the final two instalments of the Harry Potter film series. She was subsequently named Hollywood’s highest paid actress for the year by Vanity Fair, toppling established actresses such as Angelina Jolie and Cameron Diaz. The magazine estimated her earnings for 2009 at $30m (£19m).

Between shoots, she has also carved out a career for herself in fashion, modelling for Burberry, Chanel and Lancôme. Most of Watson’s income went into a trust that matured on her 21st birthday in April 2011. Allowing for her limited spending, the Sunday Times up her fortune by £2m from £22m in 2010. Born Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson on 15 April 1990 in Paris, France.

Arabia's Robot Controlled Camel

It is a really popular sport throughout the Arab world, and owning a heard of specially-bred fast camels is apparently considered a symbol of wealth and power. But it’s not the animals we should be talking about, it's their weird-looking robot jockeys.

The jockeys are remote controlled by operators driving in cars along the racing tracks, and they whip the camels at the touch of a button.

This year, Dubai police uncovered a gang of dealers who were selling electric stun-gun kits for robots, designed to make the camels run even faster. They were fitted inside the robots and delivered electric shocks by remote control in order to get an edge over the competition.

The most expensive racing camel, a breeding female, was bought in Abu Dhabi, for $2.5 million, even more than the world’s most expensive sheep.

The deal struck with Isaacson and the book publisher involves the amount of $3 million if the movie is produced and $1 million if not. Mark Gordon has been tapped as the movie’s producer. After a series of flip-flops the book is finally set to be published in October 24 by Simon & Schuster which will include the final interview of Steve Jobs

Sony is gearing to produce the movie with the assistance of Aaron Sorkin who wrote for the movie The Social Network and Moneyball. Job’s life had been featured once on a TV movie The Pirates of Silicon Valley produced in 1999 by TNT. The role was played by ER actor Noah Wyle and the show was based on Fire in the Valley, a book which deals on the lives of Jobs and Bill Gates in parallel fashion.

On the other hand, the 448-page biography, which will be titled “Steve Jobs” contains 100 conversations with Steve’s family and friends and 40 interviews with him by the author.

Third-Generation Google Phone an IPHONE killer?

Naturally, you can’t help enthusiasts create their own mock-up picture for the upcoming superphone. Well, if you’ll head-on to Ciccarese Design, their team manage to render an amazing set of images for the upcoming Nexus Prime. And it’s looking good!

nexus prime mockup Nexus Prime (Third Generation Google Phone): Mockup Images and Pictures Before Release

Just like what we already heard from the previous leaks, the new phone will have a 4.7-inch panel, although the mockup used a Honeycomb clock and some of its UI design since no one knows exactly how ICS will look like except from this mysterious video leak last week.

For its appearance, it still got those four capacitive button for back, menu, search and home whereas you can see its physique is flattened out making it look more sexier than Nexus S (second-generation Google Phone).

In our previous report, we revealed that Prime’s processor might use a 1.5GHz TI OMAP instead of the newly released Exynos CPU that may affect its battery life. Naturally, we do hope the device will be as efficient as its grand-father, Nexus One.
