Social interaction has come a long way. In the past, it occurs when people are gathered in an activity, event or ceremony (now this is old school!). Today, interaction has taken a new level as it’s already technology-based wherein social networking sites (i.e. Facebook) serve as the medium for connecting. Apart from the networking sites and instant messaging services that we know, there is currently an attempt to let a web user interact with a fellow web user and it is called Whoislive.
So what really is Whoislive? As a start, it’s an add-on that lets one user interact with others who happen to browse the same web page as the user himself/herself (this sure is another way of making friends online). The concept generally makes the webpage being browsed the starting point for interaction since users connect through shared interests. In order to use Whoislive, it must be downloaded and installed.
This add-on or plug-in creates a browser sidebar in both Internet Explorer and Mozilla that enables user to see others who are also looking on the webpage user is viewing. It also permits having status messages and chatting. There is one catch though; users can only interact with others who have also installed Whoislive.
Better than those bogus Facebook spy software huh?
